“Why is the Texas Medical Board still fighting a war they’ve already lost”

Did you hear that the Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s has decided to intervene in and lend support of Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, (an IMA Senior Fellow) in her case against the Texas Medical Board (TMB).

He has called on the Board to abandon its ‘outdated, politically motivated’ campaign against a physician who was trying to save her patients’ lives.

The Texas Legislature has already spoken. Governor Abbott signed House Bill 25 into law, making Ivermectin available to Texans without a prescription as of December 4, 2025. Texas now recognizes what frontline doctors knew years ago: patients and their physicians, not bureaucrats, should decide what treatments to pursue. So why is the Texas Medical Board still spending taxpayer resources to punish a doctor for prescribing a medication that any Texan can now walk into a pharmacy and request over the counter?” Dr. Varon

Thanks for the information and I can only make an opinion based on what information is presented. Why are they targeting her ? Always in this situation it is political or some egoistic person(s) wanted to personally go “after her” and make an example. In these politically motivated times such actions abandon all logic and factual proof to push their agenda no matter what. Given the recent Texas law it appears she is being called back into battle and may just win this round. Let me be clear I am a staunch Independent and do not fit into either red or blue teams molds for manipulating the manipulatable. Thank you for your dedication to Health freedom and the rights to decide between patient and providers !

This very likely has to do with some kind of influence on the Board members. Drug companies?

It’s a shame that Ivermectin is NOT available OTC in Texas because of the conflict with Federal law. Maybe IVM shops will spring up in Texas like Pot shops sprang up in California. An opportunity?

Lets hope so.

I do think that some doctors were targeted in order to create examples. This was done to discourage others from going against the COVID narrative.

And we are so happy we have such a great community standing with us as we fight for Honest Medicine and the restoration of the doctor patient relationship.
