đŸ„ “Whatever Happened to the Small-Town Doc?”

I grew up when every family seemed to have a neighborhood physician, one office, one nurse, a couple of doctors and a waiting room full of people the doctors actually knew. The doctor would treat your strep throat, ask about your dad’s job stress, and remind the whole family to swap soda for water. :stethoscope::carrot:

Dr. Brooke Miller’s latest Substack piece, “Protecting Patients and Medical Professionals,” nails why that model is vanishing: hospital buy-outs, insurance red tape, and gag rules that silence lifestyle advice. It’s a sobering read (I’ll drop the link in the replies).

Do you still have an independent doctor, or is everyone in your area owned by a hospital chain?

What would it take to revive the true family practice, direct-primary-care, cash memberships, policy reform?

:backhand_index_pointing_down: Share your stories, vents, or bright ideas. I’ll add Dr. Miller’s full article link and any follow-up resources in the replies.

It’s a great testimony coming from a MD!

What the naive author misses, is that every single centralization trend in the system has been deliberately and meticulously planned, starting with the mason-funded (Rockefeller-Carnegie) 1910 Flexner Report:

Masons used the same strategies in every single country.

The goal is to turn the Doctor into a protocol robot.

This is reinforced by AI telling patients that the good old Doc is wrong by deviating from the protocol.

The way out of this mess:

  1. Let the free-market resolve accreditation.

  2. Allowing patients to spend the protocol-allocated money in whatever physician or solution they want: it’s their insurance compensation money!

  3. Open the health insurance market to the free-market. Eliminate the Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) .

  4. Create community insurance based on the available money, not on actuaries and reinsurance.

And of course:

President John Quincy Adams: “Masonry ought forever to be abolished. It is wrong - essentially wrong - a seed of evil, which can never produce any good.”
