Training the Mod Team

As we close in on the soft launch, we will need to have the mod team a bit better established and trained.

First, we need to establish the mod team. We have the core here, but we should expand the volunteer base and add a few more. @KarenStewart we’ll really look to you to help identify good candidates.

Next, we have to create documents and video training, so our mod team operates consistently and not based on individual preferences and biases. How we will moderate here will be much different than how one would moderate a Facebook group or a telegram/clout chat channel, for example.

@kthompsonflccc-net lets work on gathering/creating the documentation and training materials, then we can get on the calendar a quick training session.

@KarenStewart after you go over the stickies written, let’s start discussing who we can invite for training to help us on the mod and support teams.

I pinned a post in tech support asking for community help, but I think we should try to seed that as well. Nothing crazy, just asking existing members to monitor it and jump in to help. Consider it like the many “ask questions” type forums. We can reward people for their efforts via badges, banners, avatars, specialty hats, whatever.

@flccc-eric Any update on an official training? Or just the philosophy post/Mod tools description for now?

The stickied threads are where we are starting for now. We are only just starting to build a mod team and will see where we have need for additional training.
