I thought we could start a thread to add books that we think will make great gifts - for our friends and family - and for ourselves. I will add a few below, please share your suggestions too.
My first suggestion is Dr. Marik’s number 1 bestseller:
The second, in no specific order is ‘The War on Ivermectin’ - although the storm around this has passed, its a drug that’s still banned and demonized in parts of the world and provides an understanding of the power of the global pharma lobby.
My own journey was something like Dr. Osgood (remember him) to FLCCC. Then chilled a bit when vaccines came out then finally took time to entertain Kirsch and he convinced me to read the Real Anthony Fauci…but I only half believed what I read. Then ran into Toby Rogers Substack on the Number Needed to Vaccinate. Then chilled again for a bit. Then felt I should ask Rogers for good books as I got annoyed vaccines were still being recommended to children under the age of 5 in the Summer of '22. He recommended Dissolving Illusions and Turtles All the Way Down. Read Dissolving Illusions first. Then read some books by Dr. Paul Offit to offset the anti-vaccine stuff and Offit made it worse. I only did 1 1/2 of his books because he was awful.
Other books along the way were The Moth in the Iron Lung. and then I did Silent Spring. And I think there is a lot to be said about Silent Spring as if one reads that and the Iron Lung at the same time it becomes clear that overuse of pesticides goes hand in hand with over vaccination. Its the same exact fight at two different scopes of biology. The ecosystem and our immune systems. The way Rachel Carson casts pesticide use as a dark spell combined with the escalated stakes put out by the Moth in the Iron Lung is so poignant. It all ties together. Its not a mistake that RFK Jr. first made hay on mercury in vaccines per it going over EPA limits. The EPA ended up as a check and balance on the CDC/FDA.
I think I need to give myself another copy of Dr. Kory’s book. People, if you haven’t read it, be forewarned that the narrative is both infuriating and hilarious.
Not going to give away the ending, but let’s just say that badassery is in Dr. Kory’s DNA.
Why should I give myself another copy? Well, I’ve read the book so many times, it is falling apart!
These are all fantastic suggestions, I had never heard of Silent Spring, so will add that to my list. I think all new parents should read ‘Turtles all the way Down’ or ‘Dissolving Illusions’ before making any decisions about vaccinations.
Yankee Doodle Soup edited by Jenna McCarthy. Short stories about the recent covid years, some humorous, a la the “Chicken Noodle Soup” books. This is Dr. Kory’s co-author and he has a chapter in this book.
Also, “Canary in a Covid World”. This is also a collection by different authors. This one is on my wish list. It’s a little pricy though.
