Small Eating Habits With a Big Impact

In our latest show, Dr. Carmen spoke about building simple, sustainable habits that support healthier choices for life — not short-term fads.

She mentioned two everyday practices that really stood out to me:

  • :spaghetti: Sitting down at the table to eat
  • :fork_and_knife:Using a knife and fork

Sitting at the table helps us slow down and actually focus on the meal… especially when it’s shared, device-free, and set with a bit of care. It creates space to talk, connect, or simply be together.

Using a knife and fork also naturally slows us down, helping us eat more mindfully rather than rushing or “shovelling” food.

:backhand_index_pointing_right:I’d love to hear from you:

Do you and your family usually sit at the table to eat?

And is eating more mindfully something you think about day to day?

If it means sitting at the table with our mouths vulgarly wide open as depicted in the above- picture of the ‘adults’ at the table, then a resounding NO!

On the other hand, sitting at the table in a refined decorum, in a pleasant posture will positively modulate 2026 secretagogues to enhance the production of amylases, lipases, proteases .
