NAC and cancer

Hi, One of my patients was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer, grade 1 with 2 primaries: small intestine and pancreas. He had surgery and treatment last year and continues to be cancer-free. I have him on a protocol that includes mushrooms and lots of supplement including N-Acetyl-L- Cysteine. Does anyone see a contraindication with using NAC with this type of cancer? Thank you!

We have a couple of responses to your question from our doctors:

From Dr. Paul Marik – “It is a generally accepted principle that
anti-oxidants including notably NAC are BAD in cancer and worsen the
prognosis.”

From Dr. Kat LIndley – “According to Lynn Fynn not enough studies to show benefit. NAC not good for pancreatic cancers.”
