Hello! The Ivermectin recommended dosing for Long Covid seems very high and long in duration compared to conventional approved use of the drug. Has anyone ran into trouble with pharmacies and prescribing? Do you use compounding pharmacies for this? Also, are you having your patients sign any type of informed consent for this off label use since it is so much different from recommended guidelines for this medication? Thank you! Hi dr-kimcnp, thanks for your question, is this in connection with the IMA long covid protocol - I-RECOVER: Long COVID Treatment - Independent Medical Alliance?
I remember MyFreeDoctor.com used to have a list of pharmacies that are friendly toward Ivermectin prescriptions.
I myself have taken Ivermectin for 4 years with dosing of 12 mg IVM 3 times a week. No side effects.
If you are in Canada, you can’t get Ivermectin from a pharmacy for off-label use; on-label costs $282 for ONE dose! Thanks to Health Canada and Big Pharma for protecting their no-longer-patented drugs. It’s over the counter in Mexico and a couple of US states have made it so, too.
Dosages are weight-dependent, one mg/Kg of body weight is quite normal. check out makismd@substack.com
Good Luck!
