Trump’s Department of Education is about to exclude naturopathic doctors from the definition of professional degree. If that occurs, it will greatly limit these more natural minded doctors from getting loans to enter the profession. Saw this today on Aaron Siriś feed.
As one of the comments said “thanks for posting this, i’ve been a naturopathic doctor in practice since 1984 - this would be a serious blow to the profession’s future.”
And another comment: “The Trump administration says limits on graduate loans are needed to reduce tuition costs. It believes that capping student loans will push universities charging higher-than-average tuition to look at lowering rates.”
“Seems like there could be a better way and in the meantime it will deter many students from going into these Fields”
Now I believe this is a proposed rule only, open for public comments until March 2, 2026. The final version could change based on input.

Would love to hear your thoughts:
Are student loans a problem that drives up costs and this address bringing down the costs for the Naturopathic Education tracks?
Will this impact your health insurance even more?
