The I-RECOVER Post-Vaccine Treatment protocol offers a lot of valuable information and guidance, however, one important piece that is missing is how and when to consume the recommended supplements (which can feel overwhelming), particularly with specifying which supplements to take:
during fasting
with food/meals
together or separate
Is there any additional guidance on these specifics?
Hi Chad, thanks for your question. There isn’t specific guidance, as the protocol is meant to be a guide from which a medical provider can create a treatment plan for your specific symptoms and history. You should always be under the care of a medical provider before taking any of the supplements or medications. I will share what I personally go by, and you can discuss this with a provider.
-Ivermectin as we know is best absorbed when taken with a fatty meal so wouldn’t want to take during a fasting period.
-L-Arginine I would prefer to take 30-60 minutes before meals.
-Vitamin C does not matter. It is a mast cell stabilizer, and also is not well absorbed, even in liposomal form so spreading out doses is best.
-LDN is best taken away from food at night right before bed if tolerated as the mechanism by which it is working occurs between 1-4 am. It can cause vivid dreams and sleep disturbance in some people so if I had issues would take it first thing in the morning away from food.
-Nattokinase breaks down proteins so needs to be away from food and other supplements.
-Melatonin obviously before bed.
-asprin I would take with food to protect the stomach
-Bromelain and NAC are best taken during fasting away from food, like Nattokinase.
-Nigella sativa and resveratrol I feel are better tolerated with food.
As far as duration and which supplements and medications are best for your case, this really does need to be determined by a provider. It is based on symptoms and tolerance. If you need a provider, you can find one here:

With regard to Nattokinase intake, this article was quite informative. Not to disagree with the empty stomach recommendation, but taken with food appears to be beneficial.
All the best.
“They found that nattokinase is stable at a pH range of 5 to 9. At pH 4 to 10, its activity is more than 90%.
This means that nattokinase should be taken with food. Food and water will dilute the acid in the stomach and raise the pH.”
