We have introduced a new sidebar navigation and would like your feedback.

It currently only appears on the main page, but depending on feedback we may make it more global.

It has 4 major sections:

Important Info:

Quick links to important areas of the community. This section will change over time, but always have some core staples.

The Hot Zone:

Groups that are very active, and you may want to join or pay some extra attention.

**My Groups:
**

Groups you have enrolled in for quick access to the content you care about.

Latest Activity:

Latest discussions or feed posts to quickly review to make sure you didn’t miss anything interesting.

Love the new sidebar! Looks great and gives a lot of guidance. Noticed that in the Hot Zone, the FLCCC Family isn’t showing up. It’s had more traffic that the Military group, so wondering if the Hot Zone is only showing private groups and not all groups?

I agree. I really like the side bar, shows up nicely on my computer so I see it right away, easy to navigate and gives me other areas to go and look at easily.

On my cell phone the navigation landed on the bottom under my groups so I probably wouldn’t have scrolled all the way to the bottom to find it or notice it had I not been looking to try find it.

Sidebar is cool. Do the time periods scale with the amount of posts? So if we have 30 posts in one day, will it automatically reduce the “in the last month” to “today”?

Hi Karen,

I made some adjustments so that FLCCC Family should now be displayed (if appropriate) in the Hot Zone and also in Latest Activity.

Hi Tom - at the moment we can adjust the time scale easily (look back X number of days for all groups) but once set the time scale isn’t dynamic in the fashion that you described. We could probably do something like that, but that would probably be a feature for communities 1.5 or 2.0.
