I don’t know about the rest of the clinicians in the group, but I often feel like I am out here on my own. I love coming to the meetings and talking with like minded clinicians, but feel that a more regular discussion is needed. When I was in the Air Force, we would have groups of us get on calls and discuss difficult cases and share knowledge with each other. I learned a lot of valuable knowledge in these forums. Much like the mentors back in the old days. If anyone is interested, I would love to have monthly calls to just go over clinical questions, how to’s and get each other’s experience shared amongst the wider group. Since the depression and cancer protocols have been released I have implemented both of these into my practice and would love to hear how others are doing it and what has worked for them.
I would be interested in discussing various cases with other nurses and doctors (I also work alone and must refer out to physicians as I am not licensed to prescribe or order tests). Most of my medical leave patients are very complicated now and I am truly at a loss how to help them access physicians who will acknowledge injury!
What I’m finding myself wishing for is some sort of database where I can look up trustworthy management options in a quick way, something along the lines of FPnotebook, but for those of us who are recognizing the corruption in the practice of medicine. I find myself increasingly questioning the protocols I’ve been trained to follow. I’m reading lots of great studies here and there on this disease process or that one. But when I have patients sitting in front of me its hard to find my sources quickly to have confidence treating them in a truly evidence-based way.
I’m going to forward this to the management team. It’s a huge ask that you’re asking but it’s a great ask. You’re looking for IMA.ai I would imagine this is already a consideration. But the vastness of the request?? How to gather and present the data? I’ll forward the question.
