Breastfeeding

Hi there,

I’m a mom who had unfortunately received the Covid vaccine and booster 17 months before I got pregnant. And I gave birth to a healthy boy. But I’m wondering if there is any research on breastfeeding. I’ve been tested and do have spike protein but I’ve never tested my breast milk. I quit breastfeeding at 4 months postpartum and this was very hard. While I’ve seen studies that prove that getting vaccinated DURING pregnancy or breastfeeding is harmful, I’ve never seen anything about those of us who received the vaccine more than a year earlier.

Any info is helpful.

Thank you!

Thanks for the question @dorthyd - let me do some digging and get back to you.

I have asked one of our researches to get back to me with some information, but in the meanwhile you may find this webinar about spike protein interesting “Is everyone equally at risk from COVID-19 vaccines? Hi Helen,

Forgive my very delayed reply and thank your providing the above.

It looks the study was of mom’s who took the vaccine during breastfeeding. Am I reading that accurately?

If you come across anything else in regards to breastfeeding and receiving the vaccine well before conception, please don’t hesitate to send my way.

Thank you!
