Administering DMSO

I am reading article after article regarding the marvels of DMSO, and have personally experienced the benefits of the topical application of same. But when I read articles describing the use of DMSO in the eyes or benefits of taking internally, I see wonderful results described, but little information on the actual dosage to be used or like in the case of the eyes, how it should be properly administered. Has anyone found a website that provides this specific information?

We found it at the DMSO store. Ours was a 20% solution with vitamin c. We used it for a while in our eyes. Burns terribly upon application with each drop. We didn’t notice anything different, and used it for quite a while.

Found this blog that may be of interest DMSO Eyedrops for Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, Floaters

Thank you for that find. If you come across anything helpful regarding using DMSO orally, please post.

This is the most comprehensive resource I’ve found on dosing DMSO properly for all kinds of thing:

Just a cautionary note. When I expressed interest in using DMSO to Leading Edge Clinic, they included in their instructions a recommendation to read “Healing With DMSO,” by naturopath (and herbal entrepreneur) Amandha Vollmer. It’s available on Amazon, but they sent me a PDF. On page 23, Vollmer says:

“Using DMSO while on any drug is risky, as the combined action in addition to the uniqueness of each individual can be unpredictable. Although DMSO is safe to use in the correct dosage and on its own, it can act as a catalyst to allow drugs easier and greater access into the body. I do not recommend using DMSO if you are on prescription medication, and you should consult with your doctor or pharmacist before making any changes to your medication regimen.”

Ironically, I started DMSO orally (2 days) and was reading this passage in a waiting room prior to a blood draw. After the draw, everything seemed normal, but shortly thereafter, I suddenly had blood running down my arm.

I’m on an anticoagulant, but I previously had dozens of blood draws without such a result. I’m on two other prescription medications. I had no idea what possible amplification of those meds DMSO might induce, and no way to know how to modify them dose-wise. That was, sadly, the end of a DMSO-pain-relief future I’d hoped for.

I don’t want to bad-mouth DMSO, and somehow it has a stellar record. But it might be wise to heed Vollmer — be careful.

Check out the substack of A Midwestern Doctor, The Forgotten Side of Medicine. He has written massive, well researched articles on DMSO and continues to do so. This is his latest on DMSO. https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/

Trying to assist family member who has interstitial lung disease with nebulizing (based on Midwestern doctor), I read a number of books and a lot of AMD. We started her with 2 drops of 100 percent DMSO to 5 ml saline and worked our way up to 6 to 10 drop (I can’t remember). No benefit was felt in several weeks. This was based on guidance in AMD–I printed one of his writings and analyzed. You can also drink DMSO–start perhaps a tablespoon and work up to 4 if you like it. AMD has the best info but you have to work hard to find it. hope these general ideas help.

A great resource - I have heard her talk on a number of podcasts too.

Have you considered nebulizing glutathione for your family member? Also recommended by Midwestern Doctor.

No–thank you for the suggestion–I will check that out on AMD.

I also recommend AMD’s Substack. It’s encyclopedic, and he responds to comments and in chat. I’m nebulizing DMSO using the same formula. I have emphysema and a nodule in one of my lungs. I’d love to do it with glutathione for the emphysema, but it is contraindicated in cancer if I understand correctly. It is also very potent in combination with Vit. C or hematoxylin for cancer. Unfortunately, I know of no one locally who offers such treatment.

Please tell me how many drops DMSO per saline that you are nebulizing. Have you noticed a change in the emphesema or cancer? Best wishes for your healing.

Please see Dr. Marik’s response about a nodule question there.

I typically dose 2 drops of 99.9% pure DMSO in about 5ml of saline. (I make the saline myself using 8oz. distilled water with a packet of NetiPot salt by NeilMed. The latter is very finely ground and dissolves nicely. Keep the saline in a closed glass container in the frig.) I’ve only been doing this for about 2 months. I have a CT scan scheduled for later this month to track the progression of the emphysema. I expect it will also reveal any significant changes in the lung nodule. The PET scan is more informative regarding cancer, but I’ve had 2 in 2025 and I doubt Medicare will indulge me again until next year. I’ll add that my last pulmonary function test revealed no further loss, which made my pulmonologist ecstatic. I’m doing about as well as one can do given the condition. I’d be doing a lot worse without Trelegy Ellipta-a truly remarkable medication. This is completely subjective, but the nebulizing feels good. The only adverse effect is a slight aftertaste. I’m staying as active as possible. I refuse to get a handicapped sticker, as I see so many in worse shape. Who knows, maybe I can (over time) actually reverse some of the damage with these treatments.

Thank you. I’m wishing amazing healing for you!

Thanks for the reference. I’m taking virtually everything listed in that chart. One thing I’m doing differently is taking mebendazole instead of fenbendazole. When I began putting my protocol together fenbendazole was much more difficult to obtain for human use (vs. animal use). Neither Medicare not private insurance covers this, and mebendazole is very affordable from my sources in India. Both drugs have similar absorbability issues. I’ve been taking mine crushed and consumed with high quality olive oil. In addition, just before retiring I apply it topically with DMSO. I’ll know in a couple of weeks what, if any, progress I’m making. (My last PET in Aug. showed significant reduction in SUV, so I’m cautiously optimistic.)

my wife used 12 drops to 10 ml saline for her lung condition. So far it has not helped after two weeks and we suspended use.
